Cynthia Giles: Cynthia graced the stage as a spoken word poet at Carnegie Hall and the Fox Theatre and she is the host of Creative Connections! You can learn more about her work by reading her publication in the Marietta Daily Journal or visiting her about page here.
Marquise Jenkins: Marquise is an Atlanta-based artist known for his dynamic storytelling across music, acting, and poetry. With a unique blend of Southern grit and a relentless drive for authenticity, Marquise’s work reflects his journey through diverse life experiences and creative pursuits. His poetry captures a powerful voice, drawing from personal growth, resilience, and a deep-rooted desire to inspire others through raw expression.
Sha Huang: Sha, originally from China, is an associate professor who teaches Chinese & Asian cultures at Kennesaw State University. As a bilingual poet, she published more than 60 poems in the U.S., Europe and China. Sha was nominated for the Pushcart Prize & Best of the Net in 2021. Her bilingual poetry book, “October Fruit 十月之果,” was published in Hong Kong and her poems were recognized as outstanding translated works at the third Flush Poetry Festival in New York.
Sha is also an artist whose works have been exhibited in China and the U.S., including cities such as Suzhou and Chengdu (China), Asheville, Charleston, Marietta, Kennesaw, Roswell, Woodstock, & Acworth in Georgia. She was also the cover artist for Thimble Literary Magazine and received the “Very Influential Artist” award from Tranquility Fine Arts Gallery. In 2024, she has her first solo show of art and poetry in Chengdu, China.
Liz Rodgers: Liz Rodgers is an actor, writer and all-around creative who has a burning desire to connect through craft. She trained at the Springer Opera House, Savannah College of Art and Design and with the Professional Actors Studio. At SCAD she was trained in film and theater and this where she became the show runner and host of a live-streamed variety show. Liz has worked on a number of award-winning sets working as an actor, stage manager, production assistant- anywhere the job has needed to get done! Currently based in Atlanta, Ga, Liz Rodgers is a lover of all things entertainment and is always ready to work! Liz will be leading our collaboration during the event, as we all work together to design creative writing pieces!
Uddipana Goswami is a writer and feminist peace researcher, currently teaching at the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development at Kennesaw State University. Her latest book, The Women Who Would Not Die (Speaking Tiger 2024), is a collection of short fiction set against the violent conflicts of Northeast India. She is also author of another short story collection and two collections of poetry that dwell on the intersections of personal and political violence. With a PhD in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, her academic works include Gendering Peace in Violent Peripheries: Marginality, Masculinity, and Feminist Agency (Routledge 2023) and Conflict and Reconciliation: The Politics of Ethnicity in Assam (Routledge 2014).
A former Fulbright fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, she publishes widely in the fields of conflict, peace, ethnicity, social identity, media, gender, South Asia, Northeast India, and writing and literary studies. Earlier, as a journalist and editor for over a decade, she worked with several multinational and hyperlocal media groups, from National Geographic Channel to Seven Sisters Post.
Muhammad Khaerisman: Muhammad is an actor, poet, MC, and host of the Faces Talk Show! He is multi-talented with gifts in fashion design and visual arts.
